What is HERD-LOG?
HERD-LOG is recording and follow-up software for your animals. You keep track of who your animals are, what happens to them and what still needs doing — in the stable through the app, at home through the portal, and together with your vet.
Which apps are there?
Which languages is HERD-LOG available in?
Dutch, French, German, English and Spanish. Every user picks their own language, with the matching date and number format.
Does HERD-LOG work on my phone as well as my computer?
Yes. The mobile app (Android, iOS and Windows) is for the stable and works without internet too; the portal in your browser is for work on a large screen. They share the same data.
Following your animals
What can I record per animal?
A full journal: examinations, vaccinations, treatments, farrier work, faecal tests, events, feeding plans and photos — in order, with the right animal. Plus a medical file with upcoming appointments and ongoing treatments.
Do I get reminders, for vaccinations for example?
Yes. Put a repeat on a journal entry and HERD-LOG notifies you automatically when it is due again. The calendar shows what is coming.
Can I record my horse's ancestry?
Yes, across three generations. You link sire and dam as your own animal or as a public animal of another keeper, and browse the pedigree.
Can several staff members work together?
Yes. You give staff access with the role that suits them, per app separately. Every change is logged as well: who changed what, and when.
Working with your vet
How do I link my vet?
Vets publish themselves through HERD-LOG Medi. You pick yours from that shared list instead of retyping details. If the practice updates its details, they follow automatically.
What does my vet see of my animals?
By default only the entries linked to them. Per animal you can share the full file, and you can switch that off again at any time. You keep the key.
I am a vet — what does HERD-LOG Medi do for me?
You let owners find you, follow the animals they chose you for as their regular vet (grouped by client), and consult their medical file — without separate lists per client.
Your data
Who owns my data?
You do. Your business's data always stays yours, and sharing with a vet is a deliberate choice per animal that you can always undo.
What happens if I delete an animal or an entry?
Deleting is a logical delete: the entry disappears from your overviews but is kept, so nothing is lost for good.
